Welcome

Welcome to OCD Connecticut, an affiliate of the

International OCD Foundation (IOCDF).

The IOCDF website is a great resource for information about Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.

What is OCD, or Obsessive Compulsive Disorder?

Our Mission is to serve adults, children, and families in Connecticut living with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder by promoting early intervention and
expanding awareness, treatment and research.

OCD Connecticut is a non-profit, incorporated group of dedicated and compassionate individuals who share a similar mission in support of adults, families and loved ones who are affected by OCD.  We would like to support you and your loved ones in any way we can.  Our goals are many and we want to hear from you about what you feel is needed in the state of CT for people living with OCD.

One family’s story and how the journey to OCD CT began…

Never in my lifetime would I have thought that my family would be affected so dramatically by a disorder I knew nothing about.  My son has OCD and kept it hidden from us for many years. When we finally realized what was going on, we were in deep.  We didn’t understand, our family and friends didn’t understand.  We didn’t know how to help him.  We were keeping him afloat and he was doing the best he could to get through every day with a disorder that was robbing him of his teen years.  Support and treatment were found at residential facilities out of state and we found comfort in awareness, education and understanding of OCD and connecting with others who ‘get it’.  We know now that this is a life-long journey for our family.  As a mom and medical professional, I feel it is important to have the best care and support in my backyard.  I wish for OCD CT to connect people, identify areas of need and be proactive in creating solutions for the best care and support for people living with OCD and their families.  I wish for those around me to have a full, happy life and feel empowered to be well.
